So, it's up to US to make sure that they can't get hurt. Although every home is different, and it's tough to predict every possible danger they might get into, there is a common checklist.
Deny acces to:
Electrical Outlets (Cover with plugs)
Stairs (Close with gates)
Windows (Gaurds)
Chemicals (Keep seculrly locked)
Sharp Objects (Sciccors, knives, glass, etc)
Water (Pool, Bathtub, sink, buckets)
Chocking (Plastic, toys, batteries, cords, etc)
Smothering (Blankets, pillows, bags, stuffed animals, etc)
Corners (Pad furniture edges and ends)
Heat ( Stoves, Hot water, heaters, fireplace, candles, lighters, matches, etc)
Consider this Checklist
Once they are big enough to climb out of the crib - they will! But even when we are watching them it just takes literally 3 seconds of taking our eyes off them for them to find danger, and you will see that they go right for it!
We are responsible to physically block them from getting to these dangers.
