A person that never fails, is a person that never tries. Hey, I never failed a college course!...Well, that's because you never went to college! Hey, I never burnt a meal!...Well, that's because you never cooked!
Kids grow, kids improve, and kids advance. But none of that happens without leaving behind who you were and becoming someone new.
Kids by nature are curious, adventuros high energy little dynamos. This is just how they come. They are designed to seek out new things and explore them and test them. But this is the problem - Today's kids just don't go outside and play like they have in the past. So all of that energy has no place to go. This results in under-stimulation. This under-stimulation results in "problem" behavior both at home and in school. And parents are living busier lives and have less time to give to their kids.
Well...nature doesn't care! Kids still need the same amount of challenge and stimulation that they needed before cell phones and our busier lives.
The goal is to give them activities that are new, and that takes time to master. If it's too easy, there is no challenge, if it's too boring, then there is no stimulation. Try to provide activities that provide both physical and mental challenge and stimulation.
If your kids aren't doing anything like these, then make it happen!
